As well as everything else my power kite was in the car that got stolen. So today I bought a replacement. The original was a 2 line kite that I was hopping would lift a camera. The new kite is a 4 line kite with a bigger canopy.

In the last few weeks I have had my house broken in and I have been robbed. I have had my Mac and my camera stolen as well as my car. I am slowly getting all the insurance sorted out so I should be back up to speed again soon. The site has been broken for ages this seemed to be a nigally issue with fastcgi. This has been fixed with an update to debian.

This is a quick tip for travelers.I recently went to Portugal intact I am still here. Anyway if you want to skip the now massive queues at passport control get an e passport asap as Portugal has loads of e control points like 5ish and only 2 regular only one of which is for eu citizens. I went to Belfast this week. Nothing to interesting with that but.. When I got on the plain that was to take me there the pilot instructed every one that the plane would have to be rebooted as there was a computer on board that had gone wrong. It took 3 full reboots of the plane to sort it involving all lights to be turned off (full cold starts) before the TomTom for the air would come back on again.

This is the first article I have writen on the iPod touch. I have jailed the device and I can’t beleve how cool it is now. The installed is amazing I only which apple had done it, who knows how good it would have been then. I didn’t use the jailbreakme site though I did try. It just didn’t want to play ball for me. Instead I used the more long winded original way. I will leave this post a little short as I am not that quick on this key board just yet though it is very good.

Pandora the custom internet radio company, will be blocking the UK from accessing the station as of the 15th of Jan 08. This is due to licensing issues with the music companies not going well. The UK was the only country out side the US that was able to get the system and there was some thought that the UK would let the add based company stream there radio. But this is not to be the case. There is also concern that the station might be forced off the wires in the US as well in the future. If you haven’t used Pandora before I urge you to have a look before you are unable to again.

Yet another nail in the media revolution coffin. Lets hope Jobs will cheer every one up next week.

The lost casts guys are back on the wire just before series 4 starts to air in the US. Cant wait to hear more from them. Also I just wanted to link this guy not that he isn’t popular enough or that linking him here will help. Johnny has done some really cool projects over the years more recently he has done alot with the Wii Mote that mos people will have seen all over the net. but I think that some of his other projects are of possibly greater note have a look.

I have also recently moved to another new server with more power and before it was really commissioned we purchased its replacement well this server will become a fail over node but that isn’t important. And we are now running ISPCP in anger. we have had to make several changes to the system to make it work the way we need and want it to but nothing to dramatic.  More info on ISPCP issues to follow.

Dont get me wrong I think they were awfull but with costs for the olypics going up at the rate they are we cant afford to win Eurovision cos we will end up having to host that as well.

I don’t believe it… I have very stupidly deleted the data from this site all that hard work… ow well will just have to start again. This is what happens when you don’t have your SQL databases in a good order as I hadn’t I was running many tables for multiple sites from one database with the tables not labeled properly then when I came to do some house keeping I deleted it all. well I have now reorganized all the data and wont do it again. In fact it gives me the chance to make a clean start.
