Configuring DHCP on a Linux server

by on Feb.01, 2007, under Computing, Linux

-Update John has updated his document for clearer reading due to the number of hits he has been getting…

Over the last few years we have done several projects and jobs that have required cheep and simple Dynamic Host Configuration and so we have grown quite used to setting up DHCP on Debian servers. This is one of the most important features of our LAN Bash set-up. As we don’t need to configure the network setting for all the gamers individually or as some LAN Bashes do they wait for windows auto configuration to sort out addressing (Not a good idea). So as we have found it so useful we (well John Cooke) decided to document how he sets it up. His write-up has now become a very popular how-to to read by people looking to set-up a DHCP server and so if your looking to set it up yourself you could do fare worse than to have a look at this.
