I have been getting a bit disillusioned recently by the decline of local businesses being over run by large cooperate monsters. And as so I felt that I should try and promote good local businesses as I find them.

Its been a while since my wedding but we have just got round to having my wife’s dress cleaned and packed and so we went to our local dry cleaners in Cheadle Hulme. The company is called Harry Burgers, my family have used them for years, in fact my grandparents were customers way back when. It’s a family run company that has a long history with in the Stockport and Cheadle Hulme area. The staff have an excellent understanding of cleaning processes, as we were having a rather complicated garment cleaning they made sure that the chemicals they were going to use would not adversely effect the garment. They did this by having the materials tested prior to washing.

When we collected the now clean dress it had been packaged up in a protective box complete with further care instruction. If your looking for a dry cleaning firm in the Stockport area I would defiantly recommend them.

Last year I joined the security knoladge transfer network (KTN). I attended there meeting in Manchester where they set out ther plans to help raise IT security knolage to uk companies and government. It would spear from looking at there site that there grand design has been raines in a lot. Bad news for everyone and no substitute in sight.
